Matrix Band Fig 2 – Barrier Use in Composite and Amalgam Restorations
Matrix Band Fig 2 is a dental matrix band used especially in Class II composite and amalgam restorations of posterior teeth to create temporary contour and a contact point. Dentists aim to prevent material overflow in cavities and obtain a properly shaped restoration during the clinical procedure.
- Strengthens material adaptation in Class II cavities.
- Helps maintain anatomical form in proximal areas.
- Gives the dentist the advantage of creating natural contact and contour after restoration.
- Contributes to reducing the risk of marginal leakage.
