Zirc Dental Products Mr. Thirsty One-Step, Medium, Purple is used for hands-free isolation, tissue retraction, and high-volume evacuation during dental procedures.
The all-in-one device connects to a standard HVE valve and continuously removes fluid while retracting the tongue and cheek from the treatment area, and its integrated bite block gives the patient a supported resting position while helping the clinician maintain access to the working quadrant without repositioning a separate suction tip. Each pack contains 50 single-use devices in the medium size, made without natural rubber latex and supplied ready to connect directly to an existing HVE valve without an additional adapter. A flexible tongue shield can be trimmed to improve fit for an individual patient without compromising suction performance. Purple color coding distinguishes the medium size from the smaller green and larger blue options.
Practices ordering hands-free isolation devices from a dental supplier often stock more than one size to accommodate different patient anatomies across the same operatory. The device works by positioning the bite block between the teeth, rotating it into final orientation, and connecting the evacuation port to the HVE valve. Once activated, it continuously removes saliva, water, and procedural debris while the shield holds the tongue away from the treatment site and protects adjacent cheek and throat areas. The trimmable shield lets the clinician adjust the contour for a better fit while preserving the internal suction pathway, allowing retraction, isolation, and evacuation to run simultaneously so the clinician can maintain visibility and instrument access without repeatedly repositioning a conventional suction tip.
